Have you heard of an app called “taknal”?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

taknal is an app that allows you to register the books you’ve read in advance, and when you cross paths with someone who has also registered their books on taknal, the books they’ve read will appear on your timeline. It’s kind of like a cross-talk app. Maybe. (But the distance to detect the difference seems to be quite wide? That’s my impression.)<\/p>\n\n\n

It’s a famous book, but the title “Kirishima is going to quit the club.” was too catchy for me, so I haven’t read it. This book report said that this book expresses “school caste” very well. School caste is a serious issue for students that affects the identities of students who are in the middle of it (especially who are at the bottom of the caste). It’s no exaggeration to say that the conflicts and feelings of inferiority that arise in this context are a major part of the suffering of youth. I’m looking forward to reading this book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, when I take the train, I can come across hundreds of books.
It’s fun, but it’s also very exciting to pass by one person when I hardly see anyone else.
And the only information I can find out about that person is that he or she registered the book and wrote a report of it in 100 letters or less.
It’s quite “that person from the library” feeling. (in Japan, when borrowing a book from the library, we used to write our name on a card inserted in the book. So we could know who read the book.)
Sometimes I see the same person twice, and it’s a light love affair. (Is he someone who lives in my street?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I actually bought the books I came across. I didn’t know how much fun it would be to read books that I never thought of buying myself (or even knew existed).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
